Ambassador Huang Zheng Met with President of the FSM

On July 6, H.E. Huang Zheng, Chinese Ambassador to the FSM, met with H.E. Peter Christian, President of the FSM.

H.E. Huang Zheng emphasized that under the guidance of important consensuses reached between President Xi Jinping and President Christian, China-FSM strategic partnership has scored in-depth achievements. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China will work together with the FSM to make joint plans to further implement the consensuses reached between the two Presidents in China and the FSM and promote bilateral strategic partnership to a new high. China welcomes the FSM's active participation in the joint pursuit of the Belt and Road Initiative so as to build a community with a shared future for humanity.

H.E. Peter Christian expressed heartfelt thanks to China for its assistances during the past years, and reiterated that the FSM would strictly abide by the One China principle. Based on the principles of mutual respect and treating each other equally, the FSM will work together with China to strengthen exchanges and cooperations in various fields to realize the common development of both countries. The FSM is willing to strengthen cooperations in economic and technological and other fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to promote further the strategic partnership between China and the FSM.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concerns. DCM Li Cuiying and other staffs from Chinese Embassy to the FSM attended the meeting.
